Derby Days UGA: A Week of Philanthropy Fun

            Here at the East Georgia Red Cross we are so thankful for the support we receive from the students at University of Georgia. Derby Days, an annual event hosted by the Sigma Chi Fraternity, is a week jam-packed with fundraising events that will benefit our chapter. Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, Sigma Chi raised $8,200 for the Red Cross last year. This year, they are raising the bar by setting an ambitious goal of $20,000!

In the past, Derby Days has been an event directly marketed to UGA Greek Life. This time around Sigma Chi aims to engage more residents in the Athens area in order to make the greatest impact possible. We encourage everyone to check out the list of undeniably fun events:

Schedule:

Monday-Friday (April 1-5):

T-Shirt Tie Dye: 12:00pm-3:00pm

– At the Sigma Chi House

Tuesday (April 2nd):

Brother Auction: 7:30pm

– At Loco’s Bar & Grill (On Baxter)

Rave: 9:30pm

– At the Sigma Chi House (DJ Will Webber, Opens for Big Gigantic)

Wednesday (April 3rd):

Dinner on the Lawn: 6:00pm-7:45pm

– At the Sigma Chi House (Carrabba’s Catering)

House Mom Pageant: Doors open at 8:00pm & start at 8:30pm

– The Manor (The Accidentals are opening)

Thursday (April 4th):

Boy’s & Girl’s Club Carnival: 4:00pm

– At the Sigma Chi House (H.T. Edwards Boy’s & Girl’s Club)

Friday (April 5th):

Derby Olympics: 5:00pm

– At Legion Field

Saturday (April 6th):

All Day Celebration: 4:00pm-11:30pm

–  At the Sigma Chi House (Headliner: Boombox. Opening: The Long Miles & Jet Edison)
